📍Benu, 22 Hawthorne St, San Francisco CA The BEST meal I’ve ever had in my life! This ⭐️⭐️⭐️ restaurant definitely caters to the asian taste buds, especially Korean. My wife & I traveled all the way to SF for a short weekend trip just to try this place… and it did not disappoint! Each and every course is so well thought out & executed. It’s really such an honor & a delight to be able to eat here! Some highlights include, their stuffed mussels with glass noodles, their half fried halibut with seasonal veggies (which was a fancy version of hoe-deopbap), and of course their ingenious desserts and pastries which were all SO Delish! After we finished our dinner, we turned the corner outside the resto and saw the head chef/owner, Corey Lee, teaching his servers something about the food that was to go out next. He had a very serious look on his face, which goes to prove he is very passionate about his food & takes his work very seriously. Our tasting menu: - Small delicacies - Xiao long bao with supreme soup Homemade soy sauce and vinegar - short grain rice seasoned with green onion - half-dried halibut with seasonal vegetables Fermented chili and house fish sauce Assorted lettuces - marinated raw spot prawns Cabbage-minari kimchi, rock seaweed Scallion and sesame leaf salad - squash and fish jeon Chrysanthemum, spicy shell fish sauce - barbecued quail Dried celtuce pickles, house xo, black truffle - long-simmered beef and abalone soup Braised tendon, white cloud Cucumber seaweed naengchae, kohlrabi kkakdugi - strawberry, omija, rose - layered goguma pavé Pear sherbet, roasted goguma cream
